Travis Willingham Achieves Enlightenment during Critical Role Shopping Session
Popular D&D streaming show Critical Role has had to put episodes on hold after Travis Willingham, CEO of the production, ascended to a higher plane of being during a shopping episode. Viewers and crew were surprised to see Willingham’s body become stiff as a bright light began to emanate from his mouth and eyes. Fellow roleplayer Liam O’Brien said, “We were just figuring out if we were going to be able to sell enough of our jewels in exchange for a piece of armor that actually has a lower AC than what we could achieve naturally, when all of a sudden Travis jerked upright and a loud hum filled the room. Soon he was floating, and then he just disappeared.”
Though Willingham’s body has been left this corporeal plane, The Only Edition was able to use an oracle to reach out and speak with Willingham about the incident. “I have been learning to meditate so as to not lose my mind while other players haggle over prices with shopkeepers with funny voices,” he spoke through the medium. “What started as a breathing exercise led to a much more fulfilling journey within myself, culminating in my ascendancy to true understanding. It was not the idleness of imaginary transactions but the dullness of what we call reality that made my soul ache. Even as we speak, my sense of self is evaporating, and I begin to join the endless song of the universe.”
Fortunately, not long after Critical Role announced the hold on episodes, crisis was averted when Laura Bailey was able to call her husband back to the mortal plane by reminding him of his familial duties, as well as the possibility of the 49ers being knocked out of the playoffs this Sunday.
